Vein Treatments
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is an effective way to treat varicose and spider veins. This treatment involves injecting a solution directly into the vein causing the vein to close. The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades.
Spider and Varicose Veins
How does it work?
Spider veins are small veins that are blue, purple, or red and are found close to the surface of the skin usually on the legs and face. There are many reasons why spider veins form including hormones, heredity, weight gain, trauma, certain medications, and prolonged standing to name a few. Varicose veins are larger, twisted blood vessels that bulge out from the skin, often on the legs. They can cause discomfort, itching, swelling, and aching in the legs. Both spider veins and varicose veins can be treated with non-invasive procedures, such as sclerotherapy or laser therapy, to improve their appearance and relieve any associated symptoms. Compression stockings are also great at relieving symptoms by increasing circulation.
Compression Stockings
We are partnered with Sigvaris to provide compression stockings. These stockings are specially designed to apply pressure to your lower legs, which helps maintain blood flow and reduce discomfort and swelling. The stockings can be prescribed to treat blood clots, as the compression helps move the blood through the veins. They can also be used to treat varicose veins. Sigvaris stockings come in various sizes, lengths, and colours. They are also available with different strengths of compression.
Laser
Using Laser energy, we can reduce the appearance of spider veins and broken capillaries by specifically targeting blood in the small vessels. This causes the blood vessel to heat up then collapse and dissolve.
